East Runton Camping Trip - Julie and Ian Dale

Created by Simon 3 years ago

Our earliest memories of Lorraine involve her legendary parties and the music played at them. At the first party we went to, just after we moved into the village, they played Paradise by the Dashboard Light by Meatloaf and everyone joined in singing. Lol turned to me and said “you know the words, you’ll fit right in here”. At another party,   I remember her getting us to dance to The Chemical Brothers, The Sunshine Underground, once it got going. She also introduced us to the band The Bare Naked Ladies, in particular If I Had A Million Dollars, which became a firm party favourite.

The village camping trip to East Runton was great fun, sadly I have no photos, but I do remember sitting in the large awning attached to the side of Si and Lol’s Campervan. They were sitting on the floor by the side door when the van started to move!  To make up the bed, they’d had to release the handbrake and had forgotten to put it back on.

In 2007 we camped with Si, Lol, Tracey and Chris up at Stiffkey. It took the men rather a long time to put up the awning until Lol helped them out!   We had a very muddy walk cross the mudflats.

RIP Lorraine💕
